Covid-19 Update

School Closure

In accordance with Government advice and guidelines, the school is currently closed to all but a small number of children of key workers, vulnerable children and those with an Education, Health and Care Plan who are unable to be cared for at home.

All students are expected to complete the online work set by their teachers on ‘Show My Homework’ each day, unless they are unable to do so through illness.

A small skeleton staff remains in school, but cannot answer telephone calls. Please send any queries to office@waddesdonschool.com.

Regular updates will be given via newsletters which will be posted below.

Sixth Form Consultations for September 2020

We are aware that the cancellation of your GCSE exams will be causing you concern with regard to your Sixth Form application, but rest assured we will do our best to support you through this challenging time.

Students from Waddesdon Year 11: If you have applied to Waddesdon Sixth Form and have not yet had your consultation, Ms McIver or another teacher will be contacting you by telephone in the next few weeks to hold your consultation over the phone.  We have started the telephone calls this week (30th March) and we will resume again after the Easter holidays.

New students: If you have applied to Waddesdon Sixth Form and have organised a consultation meeting between March and June, Ms McIver or another teacher will be in contact with you by telephone in the next few weeks to hold your consultation over the phone.  We have started the telephone calls this week (30th March) and we will resume again after the Easter holidays.   If you have applied and not yet organised a consultation, please e-mail Ms McIver via office@waddesdonschool.com and she will get back in contact with you to arrange a telephone consultation.

Please do not worry about your phone consultation;  it is an informal conversation about your application form and subject choices, as well as an opportunity for you to ask any questions.  We look forward to talking to you!

Once we have held all of the consultations, we will then write to all applicants in early May, with full details of the next steps.

Appeals for a Year 7 place starting September 2020

We have written directly to everyone who has submitted a completed appeal form. If you have not heard from us, please email admissions@waddesdonschool.com.

The admission appeals for Waddesdon School are administered by the Diocese of Oxford.  We have been informed by the Diocese that the appeals will no longer go ahead as originally scheduled during the week commencing 4th May 2020 due to the current closure of all schools and restrictions on movement ordered by the government.

It is not possible to reschedule the appeals until it is known when schools will reopen.  The Diocese is updating us when information becomes available, and we will pass this information on to you.  The Diocese will do all it can to schedule the appeals as soon as is practicable and is considering other ways to hear appeals.

We thank you for your patience until further information becomes available.  We also recognise that this delay will add to your uncertainty at an already difficult time.  Please know that we will do all we can to help you with this process.
