LGBTQ+ Awareness – Waddesdon Church of England School

The Pride group aims to promote equality, education and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies

The Vision

The most important principle is that all students feel safe and feel accepted
To help students deal with the fear in terms of coming out and potentially being ostracized or stigmatized for this
To be there to talk to about coming out/being an ally
Feeling that this group is a safe place
To provide support/acceptance for those who lack this elsewhere

Why This Is Needed

Waddesdon CE School is a community, and it is important that everyone feels included and accepted.
Education needs to be provided to both students and staff as there can, at times, be a lack of understanding. This is particularly important when discussing pronouns, homophobic slurs and stereotyping.

What Is The Pride Group Doing?

The group wants to bring awareness and education through

delivering assemblies
providing education through CP lessons and form time
displays around the school
